What Data We Collect

When you use the AI chat assistant, we may collect the following data with your consent:

• Your conversation messages with the AI assistant
• Your selected nationality (if provided)
• The page you came from (referrer URL)
• An anonymous session identifier generated in your browser
• Conversation duration (calculated server-side from session start time)

When you use the checklist, we collect anonymous checklist interaction events (which items you check/uncheck) linked to your anonymous session ID.

We do not collect your IP address for storage, your name, email, or any account information.

Why We Collect It

Data is collected solely for product improvement purposes — to understand what questions travelers have and which checklist items are most useful. We do not use your data for advertising targeting or share it with third parties.

Your conversation data is not used to train AI models and is not shared with any AI model provider for training purposes.

Your Consent

Before the AI chat assistant records your conversation, you will be shown a consent banner. You can choose:

• I Agree — your conversation will be stored for product analysis
• No Thanks — the AI assistant works normally but your conversation is not stored

Your choice is saved in your browser's local storage. You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing the china-chat-consent key from your browser's local storage, or by contacting us at [email protected] to request deletion of your data.

Data Retention

Data is retained for 12 months from the date of collection, after which it is automatically deleted from our servers.

Data Storage

Data is stored on servers located in Hong Kong. We do not share your data with third parties.

Your Rights (GDPR)

If you are in the European Union, you have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at [email protected]. We will respond to data deletion requests within 30 days, as required by GDPR.
